In the instructions for some hair dyes they write that before washing the hair dye, you need to emulsify dye on hair in a few minutes. What does it mean? Why do this?

To emulsify the paint in the sink means that when dyeing, the paint is applied only on the root part of the hair; over the entire length of the hair. And leave another 5 minutes. This procedure is done so that the hair is evenly colored and does not fade))

The verb "emulsify" goes back to the noun "emulsion". An emulsion is a type of dispersion system in which small droplets of one liquid are relatively evenly distributed in another. The paint on the hair should, as a rule, be applied for 30-40 minutes. During this time, the liquid (water) in which the particles of the coloring matter are distributed evaporates. And in order for the coloring to be completed more efficiently, it is necessary to “dilute” the paint, bringing it back to the emulsion state. This is done by adding a small amount of water and "whipping" the resulting mass.

Emulsification paint on the hair means that after the coloring time has elapsed, you need to moisten your hair and wash the paint a little. Those. It literally will not foam, it becomes as if soapy. Within 2-3 minutes you need to blur the paint on all the hair, rubbing the hair with your hands.

  • Masters say that it helps to achieve a smoother transition of the dye from the hair roots along the main length, i.e. allows the paint to lie flat.
  • If you do emulsification for a long time, you can slightly muffle the very bright and saturated colors after dyeing,
  • also helps to flush away excess paint from the scalp,
  • some masters claim that hair dye emulsification fixes the color, i.e. makes it resistant and plus gives a beautiful shine.

What is the purpose of the procedure?

Emulsification is often used by professional hair masters. It is carried out with the purpose of:

  • evenly distribute the color along the entire length of the curls, which is especially important for tinting the roots,
  • fix the shade for a longer time
  • eliminate dullness
  • give your hair a beautiful shine and play in the sun,
  • to ensure that the curls formed a bright and saturated color, without any obscuring.

When emulsifying, you also remove excess paint from the scalp, which minimizes the absorption of the dye into the dermis and, consequently, the ingress into the blood, because modern permanent dyes can not be called sparing.

Ammonia dyes do not recommend using pregnant women precisely because they enter the woman's body and through the placenta affect the health of the baby. What is dangerous hair coloring during pregnancy, you can find on our website.

Many hairdressers do this kind of manipulation in order to tint the entire head of hair. For example, you made highlighting and want to move away from contrasts, then it is emulsification that evenly distributes color, saving you from the ugly "zebra".

Expert Council. If you want to mute too bright color, conducting staining in pastel colors, then increase the time of massaging.

6.65 Chocolate Chestnut. Emulsifying hair when dyeing as a way to save paint, apply it more evenly and speed up the application process. Review updated! Hair photo after 6 weeks!

Hello! A week ago, she dyed her hair with a new paint. Hair dye Schwarzkopf Million COLOR, color 6.65 Chocolate chestnut. Painted together with the one and a half year old son, who cannot play himself, demands to take him in his arms, in short, the time of application I was extremely limited. As I got out of the situation, read below.

Already 2 years painted with paint L'OREAL Sublime mousse by Cacting, color "Sweet hot chocolate". I liked everything, was quickly applied, and that the main thing was that the color was most similar to mine, I could not dye my hair for 3 months! But! The last 2 times was a complete disappointment. She badly filled the hair, and as a result she quickly washed off (weeks after 2), the tips even after 2 weeks of the haircut looked messy, shaggy. And the price! I always need 2 packs, and this is 460-550 p, depending on the store.

I decided to take a new paint.

The choice fell on this, and even the name attracted, again chocolate, chestnut.

At first I thought to add shampoo or balsam to the paint, but the familiar girls from the salon were dissuaded, because the oxidizer and the coloring pigment always go in a strictly defined proportion. Nothing can be added there!

But how to speed up the application time. Girls, if you do not have children, or they are and are grandmothers-nannies, or the husband is “not always at work”, or your child is calm, then you will not understand me. And my sonny is very restless, I can barely bruise my heads, let alone paint for 40 minutes! And you do not want to go shabby!

I was suggested by my friend with the unusual name of Praskovya (she teaches yoga, but did not study as a universal hairdresser), what can be done emulsification.

It is usually made before washing off the paint, but it is possible even during the period of dyeing. So, quickly and quickly put paint on dry hair, I applied like shampoo (it was wildly terribly uneven dyeing, baldness, and unpainted roots). The paint does not foam, but we still try to distribute as evenly as possible along the roots and length.

Has caused. Then we moisten hands with water, and we begin to actively massage the hair, foaming them.

And so every 5-10 minutes.

Thus, the paint is distributed evenly.

Emulsifying the dye on the hair means that after the dyeing time has elapsed, it is necessary to moisten the hair a little and “dissolve” the paint. Those. It literally will not foam, it becomes as if soapy. Within 2-3 minutes you need to blur the paint on all the hair, rubbing the hair with your hands.

Masters say that it helps to achieve a smoother transition of the dye from the hair roots along the main length, i.e. allows the paint to lie flat.

Every 10 minutes (the whole exposure time is 40 minutes), I first wore gloves, then without (long to put on and take off), I foamed my hair.

By the way, your hands are easily washed. Just like the scalp.

After 40 minutes, did emulsification again, then washed off the paint with water, applied a balm.

Important! Always apply a balm or shampoo from a set of paint on your hair! So you stop the process of oxidation of paint!

❀ ❀ ❀ ❀ ❀ About the paint itself ❀ ❀ ❀ ❀ ❀

It is good that I previously read reviews on this paint on ayrek. And she knew that it is inconvenient to mix. I have no problems with this! In a bottle with an oxidizing agent, it was easily poured in a coloring powder (cut off with a corner), shaken, and began to be applied on the hair.

I always use 2 packs of paint, as the hair is thick (pah-pah-pah). Thanks to emulsification, I had one! When considering that it is liquid, not mousse!

I applied it quickly, in 7 minutes. I waited 40 minutes, washed away.

Ohhhh, my impression of hair when rinsing them with water! They have become so smooth, soft, just a dream! How from advertising! Sushi without a hair dryer, after drying, the hair remained soft, did not stick in all directions (as I had before dyeing), even the split ends began to look much better!

A week later, and this is already 3 times washing the head, the paint is still holding. But I think that in a month I will paint more (especially since I have the 2nd package), the paint is not the most resistant.

She does not have some kind of thermonuclear smell, as some girls write here, I would even say that it is much less than the same Sublima mousse.

In general, the paint is happy. But I remove one star for the fact that I did not have enough saturation. The color is one to one as on the packaging, and it looks like mine, it looks natural, but somehow it is pale!

After a month and a half, there was no trace of paint left. I did not use the second package, I bought two cheap garniers. Here is a photo of hair after 6 weeks:

Read my review on paint from Garnier 5.15 Spiced Espresso. Cheaper, steadier!

Instruction

If you need to emulsify the paint, during the dyeing procedure it is applied only on the root zone.

Guide to action:

  1. The paint is aged at the root area as specified by the manufacturer (approximately 30–40 minutes, depending on the expected result).
  2. Five minutes before the end of the aging period, the curls are moistened with lukewarm water. Use some water, otherwise you will not achieve the desired effect.
  3. Massaging the paint stretch from root to tip, churning composition. Remember to protect your hands with plastic gloves, since The emulsification technique does not involve the use of comb - only your skillful hands.
  4. After the manipulations done, wait about 5 minutes.
  5. Wash off the entire composition with a strong jet of water and be sure to apply balsam rinse that comes with paint.

As you can see, there is nothing complicated about the procedure.

An important point! It is not necessary to resort to the emulsification procedure when the roots are tinted. You can safely use this technique when applying the coloring pigment over the entire length of the curls.

Many women who carry out coloring at home are interested in the question: “can I comb my hair, on which the coloring pigment is applied, with a comb with rare teeth?”.

The answers of the hairdressers are ambiguous: some argue that you will distribute the color better, while others say that you should not do this, because you risk severely injuring your hair.

Experts say that for a better distribution of color on the curls, emulsification should be carried out with unprotected hands - without gloves. Due to the fact that the massaging movements transmit the heat of the hands to the curls, the color is much better taken.

Of course, you risk damaging the skin of your own hands and even painting the nail plate, but if you do this after the paint has already been activated, the effect will be minimal.

Thus, when the question “emulsify or not?” Arises, make a choice taking into account the desired result. For example, you want to paint the curls in fiery-red, then excessive emulsification is contraindicated, because the color will not be too saturated. If you want to dye only the roots and evenly distribute the color throughout the hair, then be sure to moisten and foam the hair, spreading the coloring composition over the entire length.
